Alimony Attorneys
Alimony involves the payment of financial support from
one spouse to another. Payments can take place on a
recurring periodic basis, or made in the form of a lump
sum. Not all divorce cases involve alimony. The primary
considerations are the financial need of the receiving
party and the ability to pay of the paying party. In
determining an award of alimony, the court can consider
several factors, including the following:
• The standard of living established during the marriage.
• The duration of the marriage
• The age and the physical and/or emotional condition
of each party.
• The financial resources of each party
• The contribution of each party to the marriage,
including, services rendered in homemaking, child
care, education, and career building of the other
party.

There is no formula to award alimony. The amount and
duration are fact specific and determined on a case
by case basis. To schedule a consultation with Spinner
